"Mare Nostrum"

The new Abet Laminati collection, designed by Matteo Ragni

Mare Nostrum is a collection of decors that celebrates the sea, a symbol of vitality and biodiversity. It is an element that touches the coasts of every continent, uniting and connecting them. The sea, our sea, for all, is home to thousands of marine species in an ecosystem under threat from human activity. The decors are inspired by fish and waves, creating abstract and geometric patterns. Mare Nostrum carries a subliminal message to remind us to take care of our seas and our only planet, Earth.” Matteo Ragni

"Mare Nostrum" is the new collection by Abet Laminati, designed by Matteo Ragni.
The collection includes six digital print patterns (Papersail, Fetch, Islands, Net, Octopus, Shark), each in four colours that evoke the natural tones of the sea and the earth.
Papersail is an iconic pattern, dedicated to the sea and the freedom of living on a sailing boat, cradled by the wind; Fetch represents the sea on which the wind blows without encountering obstacles and Islands recalls nautical charts with concentric figures equidistant from each other. Then Net, an imaginative network drawn on the surface of a plane that connects points and thoughts, Octopus which represents the suckers of the tentacles of an octopus and finally Shark, the particular structure of the shark's skin has inspired this pattern which gives the surface unprecedented three-dimensional effects.

The decors of the collection have a core in Re-Abet, a 100% recycled kraft paper.

RE-ABET AND THE SUSTAINABILITY

Choosing an Abet laminate means choosing a quality product that is durable, resistant to wear and tear, impact and abrasion and one which retains its properties over time.
Based on this approach, Abet has decided to aim even higher and has come up with Re-Abet, laminates made from 100% recycled kraft paper.

The new Mare Nostrum collection, made up of 24 decors designed by Matteo Ragni for Abet, is perfectly in tune with the Re-Abet project, but in particular with the company's commitment to reducing environmental impact and to continuous research.
The constant commitment of Abet to the research and development of materials that are able to go beyond the traditional is the result of products that have always maintained their characteristics over time.
