Andrea Toffanin - WAT 1988

Biography:

It comes from a family of Venetian artisans who have been involved in painting, lacquering and polishing wood for over 50 years; their laboratory is located in Rubano, in the province of Padua. Lacquer is one of the types of finishing that most influenced interior furnishing styles up until the early 2000s. However, in the last decade they have witnessed a profound change in the trend linked to the sector: product research and material testing have led to the creation of increasingly personalized and unique items. For these reasons, taking advantage of the know-how acquired and handed down over the generations that preceded them, they decided to diversify their activities and found the WAT brand: they thus became producers of wood and epoxy resin elements, already traditionally used in the production of materials advanced compounds and diffused as a finishing element in countries such as the United States and the United Arab Emirates. In these areas the use of these resins has given rise to works of great visual impact, but little attention to detail and a style that is not well defined. Their goal is to create elements with clearly identifiable connotations with the Made in Italy style, in which craftsmanship and knowledge are based in the creation of unique and exclusive creations.

Concept:

It will present a line of tables made of natural wood and epoxy resin, finely handcrafted. They will take care of every single phase of the production process scrupulously and there are not enough in series. Their goal is to enhance the profound craftsmanship of our creations, focusing on the exclusivity of each individual product and on the refined elegance of the finishes that only an expert manual workmanship can provide, together with the skilful use of high quality innovative raw materials .
