Dalia Abusharar Jewelry
Biography:
Dalia AbuSharar is a Jordanian jewelry designer from Palestinian origins. She has a degree in 2D, 3D Design & Communication from Brighton University - UK, as well as a Masters degree in Global Marketing from the University of Liverpool – UK. She has worked in the advertising industry for over 19 years for the Jordanian, Emirati and Canadian markets, and started pursuing a career in jewelry design in 2018, when she established Dalia AbuSharar Jewelry. Dalia finds jewelry designing extremely liberating to her creative flare, and her mission is to create pieces of wearable art that speak on behalf of their wearers. She enjoys creating artistic pieces that establish a relationship with the human body, as well as the space around it. Each piece of jewelry she designs tells an artistic story. So when her clients wear her designs, they are wearing fashion with meaning. Dalia aims to be part of changing the typical definition of jewelry design, and possibly creating new techniques on how jewelry is made and worn.
Concept:
Dalia AbuSharar’s pieces aren’t shy. They adopt geometrical forms, some in large sizes, that want to challenge the norm. With the rings for example, she wanted designs that were simple but still rebellious, so instead of designing a ring that horizontally aligns with the finger, she went for a design with a vertical statement, one that occupies the space around the finger instead of just the finger itself. Straight lines are widely used in her designs, even to form round shapes. Colour is also used and the graphic designer in her mostly influences it.
