Marco Barazzuoli
Biography
Tuscan designer, class ’86, after his degree in Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture of Florence and a Master in Exhibit & Public Design of “La Sapienza” University of Rome, he starts collaborating with various projects, mainly concerning interior decoration, exhibit space set-up, and furniture. The passion for handcraft, and his artsy approach brought him to the experimentation of different materials and techniques which allowed him to create unique pieces and small series. He is working closely with artisans from Tuscany, monitoring and personally taking part in the different phases of production.

A combination of materials used in Architecture, transformed in a rigorous and pure piece of furniture, a tribute to rationalism and at the same time an anthem of the material’s imperfections. ESSENZIALI is a freestanding bookshelf, which unites the solidity of a cement base to the lightness of the metal plate and the naturalness feel of wood. With its simple lines and the unconventional use of handcrafted materials, this piece of furniture maintains a high identifiability.

Second of the Essentials series, is this side table which unites a solid cement base with a steel plate and a wood shelf, made of the refined wood of heather.

Putting together architectural materials with their pure and rigorous lines, with natural elements, either raw or semi-refined.
From domestic architectures, in which the elements are united in a balance between lightness and heaviness, rigor and nature.
Thus was born ESSENZIALI, an open series of objects, whose crucial part in the project are the research of the essences and the pieces of wood, often made directly in the woods, and through the artisanal manufacturing are the founding element of the object.
It is in fact from their form, dimension and colour that the project and composition of the various elements take place.
