Biography
I am Raffaella and I have decided to stand up and be counted. I am a creative advisor and for all of my working history I have preferred to devote my imagination to others.
My professional carreer developed in the fashion industry, on the textile side of it. My natural push was towards designer jewels, so I tried to find a way that could mesh up these two worlds.
My work is inspired by modern architecture, minimalism in particular. I form each shape braiding and weaving copper wires as they were normal textile yarns. This allows me to explore that grey area that connect Italian textile tradition and the most avant-garde basic materials, creating objects that are jewels and jewels that looks like made of fabric. The metallic yarns have particular brightness due to the silver plating made on. It's like working with a metal plate enriched by the softness and the warmth of a cloth.
I think a piece of jewellery should, above all, be something that makes you feel unique, that protects you empowering your self-esteem. But also that provokes and astonishes, consciously unclear, that delights with unexpected irony.
