SEKKEI SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

Biography:

SEKKEI is a young brand, a START UP that realizes furniture and objects with cardboard.

Producing furniture and furnishings in cardboard becomes a new way to communicate values like sustainability and environmental care. We represent a new solution for those who want to act and contribute to those values. SEKKEI Sustainable Design comes from an idea by six creative entrepreneurs who decided to bring eco-compatibility and sustainability in our homes: eco-friendly pieces of design in our living rooms, objects with style and elegance, that will last in time. Trendy solutions, convenient and ideal to furnish commercial stand and fair spaces. A company that wants to express its attention to the style and the environment, could find a perfect partnership with SEKKEI. Objects and furniture made by SEKKEI become unique pieces, creating a Collection line, made for arts collections. This fusion between art and design becomes real with the partnership with some famous artists. They get involved in the design phase, giving a bright art side to our furniture. A last thing remains untold: the meaning of SEKKEI. It means DESIGN in Japanese, and gave us the inspiration to start this sustainable adventure.

Why we’ve decided to make an idea, a philosophy real? And what makes us different from all the others?Why would you choose us, with our cardboard furniture and our recyclable objects? Go on reading, and you will discover it. We strongly believe that cardboard has always a story to tell. A simple box becomes a living object, and it does it respecting our Earth. That’s why we invented the hashtag #ComeSoloilCartoneSaFare (#HowOnlytCarboardKnowsToDoIt). The strength and flexibility of the cardboard, crafted by our artisans and designers, becomes art, module, furnishing. We live in a time where we are consuming more than what we have: humanity is simply asking more than the Earth could offer. We believe becoming aware of it is the right way. A new culture of sustainability.It appears necessary to pay the debt we have with environment. A material with a second life is what we use. Cardboard becomes a design tool after his first life, and will have a new life after the furniture, going back to the recycling pattern after years and years of living and elegance. It is a lifestyle o relation and connection with what surrounds us.Our goal is to highlight the numerous cardboard qualities, glorifying its simplicity. SEKKEI wants to amaze, pushing cardboard over clichés. A work made by wise hands, creative hands, will sign the transformation memory.
