Project #1: August 2nd Chair What would happen when we decide to throw away all the “extras”? How were trying to explore the limitation of material, like wood, and only consider of function needs. The chair is made of walnut and leather,and has the ability to fit in any space and occasion,somehow it shows one of the most important elements in Chinese culture:the unconsciousness of boundary .
Yuan / 圆
Yuan is a coffee table that inspired by the classical elements “圆”,which means reunion in Chinese culture. We minimize the design as much as we can to present original wood pattern more. The smaller circular area indicate users to put water or hot baverage on it to avoid from staining.
