Biography:

The Department of Architecture was founded in 2012 from the merger of the previous departments in the former Faculty of Architecture, which was founded on the late 1960s. The Pescara School has its own historical and cultural identity recognized in the panorama of the Italian Schools ofArchitecture as a place for sharing ideas and teaching methods that come from the integrationbetween different scientific cultures related to the planning of the city and the territory, and to representation and conservation of historical heritage. Approximately one thousand students are enrolled in the Department in the two Degree Courses: the Master in Architecture and the Bachelor in Design. The DdA is therefore a medium-sized university structure, an ideal condition for study and research, where the student / teacher ratio is optimal and is structured over the years as a relationship of reciprocal knowledge that leads to strong cultural and academic growth.

Concept:

The "Corradino d'Ascanio" degree course in Design, active since 2016, aims to form a professional profile of designers with technical skills in the fields of:

- design product: design of a consumer good, from lighting to furniture, from kitchen systems for kitchens, from street furniture to boating.

-interior design: design of the furnishings of interior spaces of any nature, private or public,permanent or temporary, such as residences,offices,shops,restaurants, places entertainment, exhibitions and cultural events.

- communication design: design of analogical and digital communication artifacts, in fields of electronic publishing, advertising graphics, digital interfaces, web design,

of interactive multimedia.

The three-year Degree Course in Design is based on a theoretical-critical teaching model, laboratory, workshops and training internships at companies and professional offices. The three-year degree in Design offers a wide range of professional opportunities within companies, design studios and companies, editorial offices and service agencies. The Design Course is on a scheduled basis (80 places), and grants the University degree in Design that enables access to master's degree and master's degree courses.
