Simple, rigorous shapes, hard and cold, a bit like metal itself. Precise shapes which intersect to create complex decorative forms, recalling a humbler time when decoration was more rigorous, polite, even formal. A time when simple shapes were enriched by design. Design as decoration, becoming a fusion of reality. Here noble materials like brass, copper or steel are punch cut and hand brushed. A myriad of tiny pieces is assembled by hand forming a mosaic of unique chiaroscuro effects. The metal shell is accompanied by the warmth of natural or lacquered wood on the inside, while two small drawers finished in hand-stitched leather complete the ensemble.
