The architectural language of this villa located in the Lombardy countryside on the river Po, recalls the lines and the atmosphere of Neutra and Koenig’s villas in Palm Springs and Los Angeles reinterpreting them through the use of contemporary materials decidedly opposed to the conventional existing context. The peculiarity of the project is to be found in the bodies of different heights that make up the structure embracing the inner garden, and in the palette of colors and materials (Corten steel, very dark and honey-colored wood, Brazilian green stone) selected in order to play a composition game intended to enhance solids and voids. The lighting project started from here. In line with the intentions of the architect, his express wish to give an "inside" and "outside", the light path constantly oscillates between these two areas reaching the perfect synthesis both functionally and emotionally. The house becomes the "great light" of the garden, whose interiors become protagonists also in the outdoor lighting of the villa. Either in the inside and the outside light creates a harmonious balance of lights and shades, which besides the scenic impact, favours the execution of the several activities involved, injecting strong feelings of comfort and well-being.
