Fendi casa contemporary collection
The new Fendi Casa display area dedicated to the Fendi Casa Contemporary Collection
The new Fendi Casa display area, designed by architect Marco Costanzi, and dedicated to the Fendi Casa Contemporary Collection; follows an aesthetic path in which furnishings conceived by designers Toan Nguyen and Thierry Lemaire play a leading role in the decorated space, always in perfect harmony with the unique FENDI codes. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the architecture of Mies Van der Rohe inside the Barcelona Pavilion, and recalls the elegant and refined mood of the Fendi Private Suites; the first boutique hotel of the Roman fashion house which celebrates its relationship with the Eternal City through impeccable design and the utilisation of sophisticated materials. Light shades colour the natural oak wood flooring, and the walls are embellished with travertine and rich wallpapers. The refined marbles of Italian tradition, such as white Calacatta and red Lepanto, rejoice in the classic architecture and grandeur of the Roman monuments perfectly conveying the FENDI aesthetic vocabulary.
THE MOOD OF THE COLLECTION
The Fendi Casa Contemporary collection blends Italian tradition with research and experimentation. The elegant and sophisticated design is defined by shapes and materials perfectly integrated with the surrounding space. Iconic solutions feature balanced lines, where each part becomes a signature yet functional element, such as the metal buckles of the new Soho Lite sofa designed by Toan Nguyen, or the new Velum lamps designed by Marco Costanzi, which in the wall version are also covered with fur, a renowned symbol of the brand. The excellence of FENDI is celebrated also by the Fur Tablets, which can be considered as actual works of art. Characterized by an absolute attention to detail, the Fur Tablets are the result of extensive research carried out by the craftsmen of the Roman fashion house to translate Karl Lagerfeld’s drawings into unique furs, representing the most daring creativity and the legendary FENDI savoir-faire in the art of fur craft. The palette is characterised by the rational and balanced use of colours. Exhibiting shades of Prussian blue, burgundy, chocolate and green. The combination of different textures and materials results in an impeccable exercise in style; evident on the Freddy coffee table designed by Thierry Lemaire, which combines precious woods with marble details.
THE MODELSSOHO LITE SOFA DESIGN TOAN NGUYEN
The new Soho Lite sofa abandons the floor base for the linear supporting elements in steel. The minimal yet refined frame is upholstered in pied de poule fabric or in chocolate leather, and embraces the macro-cushions providing comfort and elegance. The leather buckle straps become aesthetic details and functional connectors, celebrating the FENDI codes.
FOOTSTOOL FORBLIXEN ARMCHAIR DESIGN TOAN NGUYEN
Formal rigour and aesthetic functionality coexist in the Blixen project defined by a decidedly contemporary mood. A line of seating designed for living and office interiors, now complete with a newly launched armchair version and its matching footstool. Proportions have been revisited to infer great comfort without undermining the architectural character of the structure with its graphic elements in steel plate. The seat embracing the cushions consists of a distinctive mono-shell element, upholstered in leather and secured tautly by metal buckles; such details recall the world of men’s fashion accessories.
FREDDY COFFEE TABLE DESIGN THIERRY LEMAIRE
Freddy coffee table is conceived as an exercise in style with contemporary features, designed by combining a portion of the circular surface with a triangular shape. The Ebony Macassar, Rosewood or Dark Rosewood top with a glossy brushed finish, is embellished with an inlay of marble Verde Alpi, Carrara white or black Marquinia, alternatively, Emperador dark. The thin metal details enhance the profile of the leg. AURA OTTOMAN A luxurious and distinguished set, the Aura ottoman is defined by a sophisticated linearity inspired by the 1920’s. The elegant structure in polished brass steel supports the large top presented in the various finishes of the collection, or in leather.
VELUM LAMPS DESIGN MARCO COSTANZI
TheVelum collection includes table, floor and wall lamps that reinterpret the powerful shape of the African tribal masks, celebrating FENDI elegance and cutting-edge design. On the table and floor version the bases upholstered in refined leather are enhanced by delicate satin bronze lines. The slightly moulded lampshades discreetly conceal the light sources, which can be dimmed by a small sensor placed at one end. The wall lamps, originally conceived with a leather cover, are presented in a luxurious version with mink or fox fur shades. The outcome is 7 pieces inspired by motifs and iconic elements of FENDI tradition in the art of crafting furs.
