SnowsoundŽ technology by Caimi Brevetti is awarded again
FLAP by Alberto and Francesco Meda wins the XXIV ADI Compasso d'Oro prize.
The Flap sound absorbing panel, designed by Alberto and Francesco Meda, was awarded the coveted ADI Compasso d’Oro prize, confirming the success of the patented Snowsound® technology, which is incorporated into the panels, and has won its sixteenth prize in less than three years.
Much more than merely a sound absorbing panel, Flap brings together clean lines with unique, highly-advanced performance in their genre to improve the acoustic comfort in closed rooms. At the same time, the product expresses a great formal and aesthetic strength thanks to the feature that it can be put together in countless numbers to create different designs. The system is in constant development, both for the innovation and applied technology as well as for the idea of the panel as a furniture accessory.
Caimi Brevetti, working in perfect harmony with Alberto and Francesco Meda, has developed a product that represents all design aspects, from the function to the aesthetic and formal value, touching on areas of sustainability and personal wellness, which is always at the centre of the design.
Celebration of the XXIV ADI Compasso d’Oro, playing out over 10 days, includes the award ceremony and the product display as well as a conference at the Italian stock market and another at Palazzo Isimbardi on “the economic value of design and intellectual property”. These important topics have always been of interest to Caimi Brevetti; since 1949, research, experimentation and innovation have been the benchmarks in its mission. As a result, Caimi has accrued a depth of technical experience, thanks to hundreds of patented products.
Its vast collection of furniture and accessories, to which it has added the innovative, patented Snowsound® technology, bears witness to the capacity of Caimi Brevetti to develop and propose to the market original contents that take account of the real needs of people. The need to live and work in quieter spaces, with reduced annoying acoustic reverberation, is effectively addressed in the Snowsound® collection products, in which Flap is a key component.
For the last 66 years, Caimi Brevetti has represented one of the most active companies from the perspective of research and experimentation into new materials and new technologies, developed with leading designers, with the skills to interpret the corporate philosophy.
The ADI Compasso d’Oro prize is the oldest as well as the most respected international design prize. A panel of global experts selects the winners of the awards, which represent the height of recognition for Italian design and add to the legacy of ADI Collezione Compasso d'Oro Foundation, which collects all the items selected for the award since 1954.
Following the awards ceremony, the courtyard of the historic Palazzo Isimbardi in Milan (seat of Municipality of Milan) will play host from 14 to 22 June to the XXIV ADI Compasso d’Oro show designed by Studio Makio Hasuike: 237 design products, including the Flap panels, of course.
