Write Sketch & high quality stationary products
A real tribute to the 1980s italian postmodern movement.
Write Sketch & (WS&) is a new stationery brand, founded in Milan in 2015, together with its first notebook collection SUPER!.
Its products are a combination of an avant-gard aesthetic language and a deeply international vision. Its first notebook collection, called Super! Collection, is a real tribute to the 1980s postmodern movement and its most illustrious icons.
This project was conceived by Matteo Carrubba and Angela Tomasoni, who have been working together for over ten years both as directors of Officemilano - a Milan based agency specialised in art direction and branding - and as teachers at Istituto Marangoni Fashion and Design school.
Their shared passion for graphics and their understanding of fashion have deeply influenced their WS& project, a true mix between the Italian Design tradition and the experimentation of the Fashion world.
Super! Collection includes Super! Joy, Super! Squared, Super! Sprinkles and Super! Confetti, 4 incredibly fun, ironic and colourful notebooks full of hectic patterns and expressive geometries.
The illustrations featured on the front and back covers are totally different but complementary to one another. The hot gold foil stamping logo is reproduced on both sides with inverted orientation, giving the opportunity to have reversible notebooks and the impression of having 8 designs rather than 4.
Precision and care for details drive all the choices of production, which is a 100% Made in Italy. The use of FedrigoniTM paper and the type of inks and bindings selected guarantee the highest quality standards. The materials chosen are, in fact, of excellent make and contribute to the creation of a product which is not just beautiful to look at but also pleasant to use. The thread stitched binding, usually employed for prestigious publications, has an above-average resilience and it allows for the pages to fully open at 180°, providing great comfort and ease when drawing and writing.
Finally, Write Sketch & has a surprise in store for all printed graphics freaks: on each page of every notebook there is a pattern which is repeated with slight alterations; as one flips through the pages a classic 1980s pattern will appear.
