Clairy.inc is an American company, that was born from an Italian startup, Laboratori Fabrici. The company is the result of the professional partnership between two young industrial designers, Alessio D’Andrea and Vincenzo Vitiello, both with a Master of Science in Product Design for Innovation at the Politecnico di Milano and Paolo Ganis, business man of the group, serial entrepreneur and Portfolio Manager of a Fortune 100 company (Generali Group) he has a Master of Science in Management at the Bocconi University in Milan. We started in Italy, we developed the first prototype and started engineering a final beta that could have amazed the market.
We presented it at CES 2016 in Las Vegas and had great success. While at CES we where spotted by one of the most important investors of the Silicon Valley, Plug an Play Ventures (which has invested in Google, Dropobox, Paypal and more). They selected us for the 3 months acceleration process and helped us boost our company. We worked hard on the product and launched it on Kickstarter at the end of March. In a society driven by futile needs, our company focuses on real problems such as health and wellness, by developing hybrid products that combine: nature, technology and Made in Italy design.
Our mission is to sensitize people towards green ethics and healthcare issues, thanks to simple and recognizable products but that are also incredibly innovative. Clairy is an amazing indoor natural Air Purifier, a flowerpot that combines real plants with technology, helping people in reducing indoor pollution which is becoming a huge threat to health.
The plant is in fact helped by an incredible tech unit, a technological core that amplifies the purifying properties of the plant. It has a great design, made with finest ceramic and it is also a smart flowerpot, it connects to Wi-Fi and it can be managed with a proprietary app that works with smartphones and tablets.
Indoor air quality (IAQ) has become a serious concern as buildings have been increasingly sealed in an effort to reduce energy consumption and because people spend almost 90% of their time indoors. Recent studies have proved that indoor pollution can be up to 5 times higher than outdoor pollution, the World Health Organization has in fact listed it has one of the most dangerous threats for our health. Volatile compounds may be produced by many sources, both natural and artificial (building materials, detergents, combustion, tobacco, electronics, human activities, paints, adhesives, deodorants, cosmetics, etc.) and although they are generally found at low concentrations, their mix can produce synergic and additive effects on our health.
Awareness towards these important issues is rising and people are starting to demand products that can efficiently eliminate indoor pollution. Research and Analysis. Clairy has been tested thanks to specific laboratory exams which have proved its effectiveness. Scientific validation has been given by the combined work of LINV, International Laboratory for Plant Neurobiology (www.linv.org) and PNAT, spin-off of the University of Florence(www.pnat.net), these are probably two of the most notable laboratories on plants in the world, which have also collaborated with ESA (European Space Agency).
