We are moving towards an era of augmentation. Wearables, smart devices, and e-textiles are new solutions for future hybrid generations of interconnected humans and devices. The higher level of interaction is producing new paradigms, raising novel questions, imposing different habits, shifting economies and politics. Through technology, we are on the edge of a change in the perception of our habitats, ecosystems, bodies, social behaviours and interactions. Defining the future is a Design Challenge. The Challenge of RESHAPE V focuses on future applications of Wearable Tech and Smart Products, inviting creative minds to predict new trends, elaborate novel solutions, and recalibrate existing markets in the direction of more sustainable models. Our goal is to redefine contemporary devices towards a new generation of cognitive nodes, connecting us to our habitats and ecosystems.

ENTRY DETAILS

1)The official language of the competition is English. Any other language will not be accepted.

2)The work entered must have been created, realized or significantly updated.

3)The competition is open to individuals, groups, institutions, companies etc.

4)The registration fee for each submission is 50,00 € and is necessary for receiving the entry identification code and submit your proposal project.

5)Reshape is a digital competition. Hard copies of the proposal will not be accepted.

SUBMISSION MATERIAL

1)1)Video documentation (approx.1 min. 50 MB max.) via upload

2) 5 Images of the work (JPG, TIF, PNG (at maximum quality).

3) A detailed Project description. The project description must include Concept idea, Function and prototype fabrication and Dissemination strategy,3000 characters max.

4)A short biography of the artist(s) 1000 characters.

5)The project proposal material (pdf, word document, video) should be submitted by email at info@youreshape.io in a .zip or .rar format named as ” Reshape19_Identificationcode_title of the project”.

6) Disqualification of entries may occur if the guidelines are not met.

Prepare your picture and text material carefully. If your entry is awarded a prize, your material will be used for the Reshape website or any communication purpose from Reshape, INDUSTRY From Needs to Solution and Fira de Barcelona.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT

To register in the Reshape competition and submit your project proposal you must pay the Registration fee after the registration.

Step 1: Registration – Access to the registration section and fill up the Registration form. A confirmation email will be sent out.

Step 2: Registration Fee – The registration in the Reshape competition will be finalized only after the registration fee payment, 50,00 € for each submission. Once your payment is completed you will receive an identification code within a few days.

Step 3: Submission – To complete your submission at the Reshape competition you must send an email with all Material required, video – Image – Description Form – Biography.

PRIZES

Reshape V edition will shortlist three winners, respectively from the Wearable technology and Smart product category. Additionally, two honourable mentions will be nominated for each category. The first winning designers will be awarded two scholarships* (value: 6.200 Euro) for the DESIGN FOR WEARABLES postgraduate program at IED Barcelona, and a financial prize up to 1.000 Euro.

Moreover, all selected talents, winners and honourable mentions, will have the chance to participate in Reshape Forum, with a free ticket pass at INDUSTRY From Need to Solution Event (overall ticket price: 400 Euro) . At the Reshape Forum, designers will meet relevant industry leaders, presenting their proposals to the INDUSTRY and Reshape audience. Additionally, shortlisted projects will be showcased at Reshape Exhibition and invited to the Reshape Networking night.

*100% Scholarship for the Wearable technology category 1st winner, 50% Scholarship program for the Smart Product category 1st winner. The inscription fee is not included.
