Del Savio 1910's participation in the Milan Design Week recounts how marble, which the company has been working with for three generations, can be declined into exclusive surfaces or transformed into special elements to embellish any rooms.
These small daily sets visually translate the expressive potential of Marble Patterns, the project of the company based in Pordenone, launched in Milan, and devised on the occasion of its 110th anniversary.
Marble Patterns is an experimental laboratory developed with the art direction of Zanellato/Bortotto which involve Mae Engelgeer e David/Nicolas to transforms the ancient art of Palladian flloring, the primary specialisation of Mario Del Savio family’s business.
Del Savio 1910 chose 5Vie as the location for his launch at Fuorisalone. The choice has been made knowing that, more than the other Milan districts, 5vie has been manifesting for decades an elective vocation for craftsmanship excellence, non-standardised production, limited edition, and experimental research, hosting the most creative trajectories of design.
It is precisely in this space in Via San Maurilio 14 that the Zanellato/Bortotto studio stages a modern interpretation of the Palladian, updated thanks to the contemporary graphic language and the innovative manufacturing process.
The sets will provide multiple solutions that inspire different functions: in addition to wall and floor coverings, the nine collections of Marble Patterns – designed by Zanellato/Bortotto, Mae Engelgeer
e David/Nicolas – can become coffee tables, freestanding volumes with support and work surfaces, storage configurations.
Marble Patterns is abacus of sophisticated textures and palettes. This multiplicity is made possible by the unprecedented combination of precious Italian marbles and special coloured cements, which allows infinite variations to customise environments through tailoring and hyper décor applications.
