De Marchi Verona

Handmade porcelain surfaces

Ultrafine porcelain: its glossy surface, extraordinary colours, dense tactile feel and absolute durability make it a time-honoured, precious material, called 'white gold’ since the time it was first brought to the West by Marco Polo, who learned of it on his travels to the Far East.

The new brand is an evolution of the family tradition, recognised for exceptional skill crafting objects and accessories in porcelain, handed down from generation to generation. This next step is a journey of research that modernises the material, with results that are unlike anything before.
The porcelain elements by De Marchi Verona easily become beautiful surface coverings, arising from an entirely made-in-Italy process that is the outcome of technical experience, material experimentation, artisan skill and the use of hi-tech equipment to manage delicate production phases and very high temperatures in the kiln (temperatures which differentiate porcelain from ceramics).

This ‘industrial laboratory’ has given rise to finely manufactured collections that offer exceptional performance: porcelain is in fact recognised as one of the most durable materials there are, as it is unchanged by pollution, weather, and fluctuations in temperature, which make it ideal as wall coverings and external façades. Because it's waterproof, it’s often used within swimming pools.

De Marchi surfaces are composed of three-dimensional modules that can be combined in different configurations: entirely hand-made, they are customisable not only in their layout, but also in their sizes and colours.
In addition to the intrinsic value of the material, the richness of surfaces is amplified by the eclectic style introduced by Art Director Giacomo Totti. With sophisticated references and refined aesthetics, he transports this age-old craft into the contemporary era, turning it into an innovative product in which exclusivity and personality abound.

Totti's passion for fine materials and high craftsmanship thus meets the company’s business strategy, which has programmed investments to optimise the manufacturing cycle and define production capacity. The ultimate goal, after all, is to meet the needs of projects of any scale, from small to medium and large, connecting with architects, interior designers and showrooms around the world to realise fine residential, hospitality and retail spaces.

The artistic culture and ancient architecture of Verona, the company’s hometown, are reinterpreted in refined porcelain surfaces with lines that recall classicism yet also allude to metaphysical visions.
Each square element has a raised portion that can be straight or define an arc; the other portion can be smooth or textured with grooves.
The use of two different colours in the same element and the raised and textured options allow for multiple combinations.

Format: square element side 29.5 cm
Colours: matt silk, matt snow, matt cobalt

A homage to this mythological figure, goddess of the sea, the surface echoes the rippling of the waves in porcelain, in a juxtaposition of abstract and textural references.
A feeling of movement is given by the three-dimensional texturing, which is unique for each element, and is further emphasised by a herringbone layout: this creates an alternation of light and shadow that enhances the material with its own precious language.

Format: parallelogram element: long side 31.5 cm, short side 19.5 cm
Colours: gold bronze, matt snow, sage

Cross, design Marta Martino

A project for precious porcelain cladding that elaborates on the diamond bossage, a basic motif from Renaissance architecture, that pushed to its limits, transforms into a stud with punk-like connotations.
The square-based pyramidal elements are covered with a multitude of three-dimensional micro spheres: the repetition of the pyramid and texture creates unexpectedly playful optical effects, giving Cross an aesthetic with great expressive power.
The collection, which is extremely complex to produce, is available in 2 modular formats that can be combined.

Sizes: square element side 10 cm or 20 cm
Colours: matt rose, matt snow, matt noir

The fine porcelain surface is inspired by the architectural styles and ancestral symbols from South American civilizations, in an interplay of natural echoes between heaven and earth.
The elements, although apparently very different from the other, can be laid in multiple configurations to create geometric patterns and compose labyrinths, where the spaces—either larger or smaller—play a part in the final aesthetic.
Each three-dimensional element has a characteristic irregular, slightly splayed shaping that enhances the colour shading and reflects the light in a variable manner, highlighting the richness of the collection.
The colours, some of which are iridescent, match or contrast with each other and the spaces between them.

Formats: sizes vary depending on the element
Colours: glossy cobalt, emerald, matt silk, luster
