Linea Light Group, a world leader in lighting, presents its latest innovation in the world of architectural lighting: the new EVO downlights.
EVO downlights are innovative, interchangeable, fully recyclable and sustainable luminaires. Protecting the environment is a major concern in today’s world. For this reason, Linea Light Group has developed a series of luminaires that help reduce environmental impact without compromising on quality or functionality.
Designed to meet the demands of modern lighting solutions, these luminaires are a perfect fusion of sophisticated aesthetics, state-of-the-art technology and energy efficiency.
Linea Light Group's EVO downlights are the result of meticulous research and development and offer a unique combination of elegant design and superior performance. With their powerful and uniform illumination, these luminaires are ideal for a variety of applications, from private residences to commercial and public spaces.
Although still in its infancy, the EVO downlight collection has already been recognised for its innovative features. It was awarded the GOLD prize in the “Circular Economy” energy category at the Build Back Better Awards 2023, a new initiative to promote innovation, creativity, and environmental and social awareness in building design.
EVO spotlights in figures:
61% recycled: SUSTAINABILITY
The EVO collection is closely aligned with the long-standing company philosophy, which adopts a production process with low environmental impact. In fact, 61% of the material from which it is made is recycled material (the company confirms that this percentage will increase in the coming months);
98% recyclable: RECYCLABILITY
EVO luminaires and all of their constituent parts are easy to dismantle, which means that at the end of their useful life they can be recycled or disposed of at the appropriate recycling centres. This helps the company to drastically reduce the amount of waste produced. The remaining 2% accounts for those components - such as the LED - that are not recyclable but can be disposed of properly!
98% repairable: INTERCHANGEABILITY
Thanks to the wide range of accessories available, it is easy to dismantle the appliance into all its parts to repair or replace a specific part without having to buy a completely new product. This not only reduces costs, but also the amount of waste produced.
Each individual component of the new EVO downlight series has been designed to be assembled and disassembled without the use of tools, but simply through mechanical movements.
This innovative system allows for 360° customisation of the luminaire and infinite combinations: during the design phase, the basic luminaire, filters, optics and fronts are chosen to suit the customer's taste and needs as well as the style of the room:
3 DIFFERENT FRONTS FOR DISTINCTIVE AESTHETIC DESIGNS
The philosophy of the EVO family is based on the “family feeling” associated with three popular existing luminaires from the I-léD division and which are therefore already in the portfolio, namely Quantum, Vos and Warp. It develops the concept of "green" downlights to the maximum.
4 FINISHES TO CREATE UNIQUE SPACES
We have created four elegant and refined finishes for the EVO front accessories: White, Black, Gold and Copper. Easy to install thanks to the simplified system, they give a touch of elegance and sophistication to any project and are ideal for creating warm and inviting atmospheres.
3 FILTERS FOR BETTER VISUAL COMFORT
- ELLIPTICAL FILTER
This accessory allows you to change the beam angle of the luminaire. Quick and easy to position, it allows for the creation of customised lighting effects, for example in corridors or narrow spaces.
- AESTHETIC FILTER
This accessory helps to mitigate the "yellow", bull's-eye effect of LEDs, which is disliked by professionals and lighting designers.
- HONEYCOMB FILTER
Thanks to its honeycomb structure, this accessory allows you to virtually eliminate glare by shielding the light source, while at the same time guaranteeing a direct beam of light.
High-performance and uniform lighting thanks to:
5 OPTICS WITH DIFFERENT APERTURES
From a super narrow optic, such as the Narrow Spot Optics, to a wider optic like the Wide Flood Optics
4 COLOUR TEMPERATURES
From “classic” warm lights with colour temperatures of 3000K and 2700K to the new ultra-warm temperature of 2200K, which was recently reintroduced to illuminate and enhance historic buildings and to use the colour of light not as a means to increase the visibility of objects - which is possible with cooler colour temperatures - but rather to highlight the materials used to create urban architectural environments, where the designer requires “less sharpness but more atmosphere”; on the other hand, if the design brief is completely different, natural light at 4000k is a good choice.
3 DIFFERENT POWERS
4 W / 9 W / 14 W, controllable in On-off mode or by using the DALI protocol, equipped with dual IP. The optical unit guarantees an IP65 front protection rating, i.e. total protection against the entry of dust, extremely small particles and splashes and jets of water: this affords greater protection to all those special projects located in humid locations, for example the bathroom.
1 NEW ACCESSORY TO ADAPT TO EVERY SITUATION
The new Adapter Ring accessory, for the Warp EVO and Quantum EVO models, allows the diameter of the front of the luminaire to be increased so that EVO downlights can be installed in existing holes or in places where a precise hole cannot be drilled, for example during construction.
i-LèD LUMINAIRES MEET BUILDING CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Linea Light Group has always placed a strong focus on designing luminaires that meet building certification requirements: today, certification is an important indicator of these requirements and we are constantly striving to meet them.
When it comes to certification and sustainability, there have been many developments in the market and regulations. Among them are the LEED and WELL standards which are required to certify commercial and residential projects.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)** is a US rating system that certifies the energy efficiency and environmental impact of a building; it is designed to reduce the environmental impact of buildings by improving energy efficiency, reducing waste and promoting the use of sustainable materials. Part of the EVO range complies with the parameters set by LEED in terms of luminance and the CRI.
The WELL protocol, on the other hand, is a rating system that certifies the state of well-being of the occupants in a building. This system evaluates a building based on seven criteria: air, water, nutrition, light, fitness, comfort and mental well-being. WELL is designed to promote a healthier and more productive working environment, for example, by improving air and water quality, increasing the amount of natural light, improving the quality of artificial light, providing space for exercise and promoting healthy eating.
A COLLECTION UNDERPINNED BY THE COMPANY PHILOSOPHY
But as the Latin poet and philosopher Lucretius said in De rerum natura, “nothing comes from nothing”. Indeed, Linea Light Group has always had a production system centred on waste and sustainability, with a particular focus on environmental impact. Since its foundation, the Veneto-based company has been distinguished by its commitment to “green” policies, and this new technology serves to reaffirm these values and principles.
RECOVERY OF WASTE OILS
Waste oil is recovered through the use of special oil separators, which use centrifugal force to separate any solid materials from the oil. Recovered oils are reused and fed back into the product processing system.
RECYCLING OF RAW MATERIALS
With the help of specialised suppliers, solid materials and raw materials from manufacturing waste are recovered and processed into semi-finished products. This is how many luminaires, such as the recent D-WAVE, are made from material that is reprocessed and fed back into the product life cycle.
DETERGENTS AND CLEANING
When cleaning production environments, Linea Light Group tries to keep its use of soapy water to a minimum. Thanks to special MEWA MULTITEX® oil absorbing mats used as a preventive measure, the use of common detergents has been significantly reduced, thus decreasing the disposal of water contaminated with additives.
SEPARATED WASTE COLLECTION
Great attention is paid to sorting waste during the production and processing of raw materials and to monitoring waste in order to identify the correct type of recycling. These measures, combined with the new state-of-the-art storage system, have enabled the new plant in Vazzola (TV) to obtain ISO 14001 certification.
AIR POLLUTION
The short supply chain ensures optimised transport, less pollution and a production that is concentrated as close as possible to the company. More than 100 of the group's suppliers operate within a small radius of 40 km, which helps boost the local economy.
The launch of the new EVO downlights represents a further step in Linea Light Group's commitment to providing state-of-the-art lighting solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market. With their combination of aesthetics, technology and sustainability, EVO downlights are destined to become a benchmark in the world of modern lighting.
