Architecture in the desert: In Arizona, the magnificent Villa Solace project signed by JSF Design with Antolini®

In the heart of Arizona's Sonoran Desert, a stunning mansion comes back to life thanks to an elegant transformation by JSF Design Inc. and natural stone by Antolini®

Arizona (USA) – June 2024 – Nestled in the breathtaking Sonoran Desert landscape, featuring the lush colors of its native soils and vegetation, Solace, a 650-square-meter villa, is among the largest in the Desert Mountain residential complex and has undergone a complete interior redesign by Jeffrey Florentine, CEO and founder of JSF Design Inc. one of the most prestigious interior design firms in the Scottsdale area.

Fundamentally, designing a room is mastering the art of creating unforgettable moments, which is precisely why Jeffrey Florentine chose Antolini® natural stones for the important task of embellishing these elegant interiors as part of customizing individual rooms through the use of different stones that resulted in a unique residential interior design.

"Our design journey began by drawing inspiration from the distinctive architecture of the house," explains the American interior designer. "Its gentle curves and elegant bearing called for a refined and sophisticated palette. Nuanced tones of browns, whites, golds and taupes are the colors of the Sonoran desert that we wanted to carry over into the interior, and the selection of Antolini natural stones featuring these hues were the basis for much of our design."

The heart of Solace is its expansive kitchen, designed to be a gathering place for multiple people, making it the location of choice for groups of friends and family. Adding character and depth to this important area is Paonazzo, a refined Italian marble that clads its walls and central island, whose striking golden veins are accentuated by the antiqued brass finish of the taps and the elegant palette of the hand-brushed cabinetry. The grand central island perfectly exemplifies the quality of the design: composed of four separate slabs, the impressive craftsmanship makes it appear to be a single, seamless surface. Chosen for its visual and aesthetic continuity, the area dedicated to outdoor cooking echoes its soft colors with Cristallo Lumix, a natural quartz that, due to its greater hardness, lends itself well to outdoor applications and here creates an interesting dialogue between indoors and outdoors.

Set in harmonious dialogue with the outdoors by a large window, the master bathroom is gracefully enriched by the hypnotic and refined Silver Roots, a marble whose soft grey tones are enlivened by darker veins and which covers the vanity top and the walls of the generous shower area with its central monolithic seat.

Another impressive touch is the fireplace in the master bedroom, with its book-matched cladding that recalls its role as a hearth. As the designer Florentine points out, "We wanted the fireplace in the master suite to be the focal point of the space. When you think of a fireplace or a hearth, you think of the movement, the heat and the fluctuating colors of the flames. We wanted all these to be reflected in the chosen stone." With its soft shades of brown crossed by delicate white veins, Striato Tortora marble proved to be the ideal solution, thanks to the careful selection of the cut and the subsequent matching of the slabs that accentuates its magnificent details.

An end result that was made possible by a strong affinity that was evident from the very beginning: “When we approached Galleria of Stone AZ and discovered the Antolini team, we were utterly amazed by the exceptional level of service they provided, not only to us as designers but also to our clients. Their meticulous attention to detail” – continued Florentine – “and deep understanding of how the stone would be utilized in the space left us truly impressed. Working with Antolini was an extraordinary experience: this intimate connection between user, project and material during the selection process really made a difference.”

Carefully selected in terms of both veining and cut, all natural stones – with the exception of Cristallo Lumix, by its very nature sublimated by the Lux® finish – have been chosen in leathered and honed finishes such as Lether, so as to fully enhance the textural quality of the surfaces, resulting in a timeless design.
