ABOUT

Altrosguardo is an Italian creative studio that was founded in 2009 from the collaboration of Mara Melloncelli and Mattia Menegatti. From their different academic background – education and communication – with passions and experiences in music and experimental theater. From these artistic influences derives scenic taste of some projects, immediately directed to reuse and recovery: about material and object memory, up to the historical and cultural identity of places and things.

CONCEPT 

From the study of everyday objects in a domestic setting, through a work method open source, Altrosguardo develops a kind of explicit Lateral Design. A divergent design whose purpose is to reach results exempt from any rigid and traditional logic model. 

The design approach is integrated over time to the artistic dimension, which Altrosguardo continues collaterally, maintaining It’s own poetry. Creativity that flows from the everyday life into the everyday life, giving and taking away form the human experience. Art denouncing identity crisis.

BIO

It all started from research about objects, symbol of tradition and what they represented for the past generations. A re-conceptualization of discarded elements, which is assigned new function, in a constant exercise to re-watch in a different perspective from that in which they were designed.

The objects reveal and tell, witnesses of our passage. Escorted us to the next story and go away quietly, coming out from our lives. Here enters the work of Altrosguardo, creating the conditions for re-processing memories, facing and often exasperating the incessant convertibility of things.

Over time, from small creative workshop that enhances the unique or limited edition, Altrosguardo experience working on larger projects about imagination, perception and emotion, pursuing a little crazy dream to conceive different visions of existence.
