KYRIAKI PAPHITOU

Kyriaki Paphitou received her Diploma in Architecture Engineering, a five-year professional architectural degree, from the National Technical University of Athens in 2007.

After the completion of her undergraduate studies she worked as an associate architect for over a year at Andreas Hatjizacharias Architectural Studio a well established studio focusing on residential projects. In 2008 she was registered to the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamfer – ETEK and to the Architects Association of Cyprus.

Her enthusiasm for further knowledge combined with the interest in the emotions expressed in an architectural space lead her to Italy, where she enrolled at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, for post-graduate study and obtained a Master ‘s Degree of Advanced Studies in Lighting Design in April 2010.

After the completion of her post-graduate studies she started pursuing a career in architecture and lighting design and worked as a freelancer in a number of collaborations and projects both in Italy and Cyprus. During this period she remained keen and active and participated in a variety of competitions and other related events. At the same time she played an active role in the formation of the “HUB”, a design platform created by a team of young architects, engineers and designers, which aims to contribute in communication, creativity, aiding both a team and individual development within a coordinated design place.

In 2012 Kyriaki accompanies architecture and lighting design by setting up a consulting firm, providing personalized lighting design services in the field of both natural and artificial light.
