“As far as the aesthetic and functional aspects are concerned”, declare the designers at Studio 01 Design, “Syntia aims to express a modern conception of the ‘coffee machine’. The aesthetic inspiration is dictated by its integration into its setting: the form has been imagined in such a way as to remove it from the kitchen working top. The intention has been to create continuity with everything around it: with the surface on which it stands, with the materials and space nearby. The three-dimensional research into the forms has been effected naturally from the ‘vertical explosion’ of the lines. Every detail has been designed on the basis of the principle of functional purity; the technical and technological elements have found their natural position in well-defined areas, in islands integrated into the surface (user interface) and islands that stand out (brewer). The materials follow the form and the surface finish comunicate the areas of interaction. Robustness and a wealth of details are reflected in the symmetrical equilibrium”.
