I-dog is a part of a limited edition of a sculpture design series “For Adult Only”, created by Elda Bellone and manifactured in Italy by Officina Cavallaro. I-dog is made in white laquered iron, it is strong and tender at the same time, it is not a real toy, even if seems so, it is essentially a sculpture-design concept about shape and function; this bones dog shape , skinless, unfinished, became a design object when it is able to be used, infact it can be an umbrella stand, a stool, an ottoman, a magazine rack, a posters container...... It is an open object , it can sustain, hold, entertain, do company, so it has many apps to discover with our immagination and needs. I-dog wants to explore the boundary between objects of sculpture and design , trying to realize a new form-function idea, not to be expressed but to be interpretated.
