Municipality office and public regulatory authority, City of Frankfurt - signage and wayfinding system | The municipality office is valid alongside the city hall as representation of the city of Frankfurt and as interface to the citizens. Comprehensibility, legibility, openness and transparency of the services supplied are crucial since the citizen meets the authority of the state in personal. Having this in mind, unit-design developed the orientation and information system, based on the highest possible clarity as well as a direct and friendly tenor while also responding to the specific character of the building’s architecture from architects Meixner Schlüter Wendt. Thereby, the accentuated handling of typography, signs and colour played an important role. To achieve a comprehensibility, as high as possible for all user groups, service offers and instructions are represented by a system of simply recognizable icons.
