The Fendi headquarter in Rome is loca- ted in the historical centre of the city in- side a gorgeous Building of the VII Century called "Fendi Palazzo". The building hosts the showroom, the Haute Couture's shop and the admini- strative offices of the Maison. Goring & Straja Studio was chosen as de- signer for the extension and refurbi- shment of the store at the ground level which was completely transformed to host the new man collection and the re- novated woman shoes section. The works were originally planned and realized in a limited time and in different phases to avoid to hamper the sales area activity. The construction site, coordinated toge- ther with the Fendi store planning depar- tment, had to confront itself with the technical and structural troubles typical of an historical palace. The new boutique appears today as a fluid and appealing space in harmony with the architecture: a real icon of the Fendi image and vision worldwide.
