ARÁCEA 2012| PLASTIC| VARIOUS COLOURS| DIMENSIONS H x W x D/ 80 x 49 x 52| ARÁCEA is a chair with a low backrest. It has been thought and designed to recreate the shape of a typical Brazilian plant called “Costela-de-Adão”, Adam’s Ribs or Ceriman from the Aracea family. The idea was to mark the backrest with the design of the leaf which resembles a man’s ribs and by which the name was given. This particular detail embellishes the piece as well as it functions as a perspiration escape and a carrying hold.
