Parma, Italy, 2010. The Parma Urban District, a project commissioned by Sviluppi Immobiliari Parmensi S.p.A., lies on an area of 167,624 sqm. The classic idea of an out-of-town park, designed for leisure time activities, is enriched by a new agroenergetic component inspired by the traditions of the area even if it proposes a new and contemporary interpretation of subjects such as the use of natural resources and the production of energy. The covering of the new shopping centre - developed on a 115,000sqm surface - is ment to mantain continuity and, at the same time, to break with the surrounding landscape in a way that will allow the use of a wide range of active and passive strategies and systems to manage and utilize solar energy.
