TOTEM is a project born from the simple desire to combine formal simplicity and traditional materials.  The original idea was to use and re-design an item that over the years has become a company’s best-seller: the rope.  The intention was to use the rope, but do so in a completely different way to give it a new meaning and a new application.  The rope is not woven, but is rolled over the whole body of the object.  Thanks to the upper and lower caps (which prevent the material to rub with the ground) TOTEM assumes a continuity and a perfect shape.  Doesn’t want to use it? Doesn’t want it to occupy space? Doesn’t know where to store it? The answer is simple. You can stack the 4 poufs togheter and that creates a perfect piece of furniture: a sculpture that changes shape every time you want it!
