The bench Eudossia was inspired by the shape of a rigid heddle loom, device on which was based the development of the textile industry in the twelfth century, first in Milan and then in northern Italy. I believe that the history of commerce is one of those cross-links connecting the peculiar features of an area with the ways and habits, creativity and ingenuity with which its enviroment is lived and experienced. Eudossia rapresents a loom weaving its cloth, or perhaps vice versa. It's also the most chaotic of Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities", in search of a divine order in its chaos of humanity, or perhaps vice versa. This is because i wanted to talk about present as well as about the past.
