The objects tell stories, they are created to carry out the functions, but since someone draw them and then they make them, they become memories, dreams, pieces of life. "CATERINA” the name of the bergère designed by Antonella Scarpitta for IDP, is a tribute to "CATERINA DE MEDICI", the undisputed queen of the Renaissance, art lover and a symbol of Italian savoir faire. "CATERINA” is a contemporary restyling of the classic bergère, where the intervention of simplification has given rise to a comfortable project marked by wraparound, harmonious and elegant lines that escape the relentless succession of fashions. A project "CATERINA", which borders between Art and Design, designed thinking of the tradition, innovation, based on the encounter between craftsmanship and creativity. Desire of the eclectic designer is creating unique pieces, where the value of the decoration becomes emotional element, evocation of the past reinvented. The back of the chair "leather-wrapped" is transformed into a canvas where, with a special technique of printing, is reproduced a painting of Italian Renaissance art. The three-dimensional effects with multiple shades of rich colour are reviving the art Tapestry. A design that combines art and poetry, a stylistic, technical and expressive virtuosity, where the decoration is the protagonist, where the present meets the past.
